April 11, 1953 - May 2, 2026
Bogdan Klibisz was born April 11, 1953 in Olmonty, Poland and passed away May 2, 2026 in Cleveland, Tennessee. This page serves as a brief memorial and biography of his life.
Bogdan was a loving and devoted husband. He met his wife, Anna, in Canada after they each emigrated from Poland to the Toronto area. They were married August 28, 1992 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Mississauga, Ontario.
Bogdan was a loving and selfless father. Bogdan and Anna had their first son, Alex, in Canada in May 1994, and their second son, Adam, in Tennessee in February 1999. Bogdan and Anna endlessly supported their sons in all their pursuits and interests. They spent over 18 years driving all over Tennessee and neighboring states for BMX races, soccer games, swim meets, tennis matches, and many other activities. They left no stone unturned when it came to providing opportunities for their sons to learn and thrive.
Bogdan was an immigrant, multiple times over. He left Poland in 1987 and spent time in the Netherlands and Austria before settling in Canada, where he became a citizen in 1993. In 1995, the family returned briefly to Poland, then moved to the United States in 1997. After many years of paperwork, persistence, and waiting, Bogdan, Anna, and Alex became proud citizens of the United States in May 2014.
Bogdan was a skilled and ambitious engineer. He graduated from the technical school for electronics in Białystok, Poland in 1973 and from the electrical engineering institute at the Białystok Polytechnic in 1977. He spent the first 14 years of his career as an automation control specialist at a television assembly firm in Poland. After emigrating to Canada, he worked in similar positions and completed several more professional certifications. In July 1992, he started working at Duracell, where he would work for the next 20+ years. From 1995 to 1997, his work took him abroad to China, where he helped Duracell build new manufacturing facilities. In 1997, he took the opportunity to move his young family to Cleveland, Tennessee and continued traveling to work in China and India. After several years of travel, he took a permanent position in Cleveland, where he mostly worked the second and third shifts until he retired in 2015.
Bogdan was a lifelong amateur radio enthusiast. His call signs were KF4TZU, SP4EEH, and W4EEH. He loved tinkering with radios and antennas. He built dozens of antennas in the backyard, took his gear on vacations, and even had an emergency response rig in the family minivan. He made many lifelong friends through the hobby, with whom he frequently exchanged phone calls and emails about their radios and antenna design ideas. He competed in international competitions, both individually and in teams. He participated in several field days around Cleveland, and proudly wore the T-shirts for years to come.
In the final years of his life, Bogdan suffered from Parkinson's disease. He was deeply grateful for the tremendous support of his wife Anna, who made caring for him her top priority for almost a decade. He was regularly comforted by the family pets, Toffee, Baby, Kitka, Honey, and Bella. And the family is immensely grateful to his caregivers, particularly Maria and Ann, who became part of the family and supported us until the end.
We are forever grateful for our husband and father. He will be missed dearly.
Thank you for reading.
